Our mission is to assist home schooling parents in training and educating their children as they pursue academic excellence and life goals from a Biblical world view. Classes meet once a week on a Wed. or Thurs. at St. Andrews Evangelical Church, 2609 Seminole Road. Classes include English I, II, III, IV taught by Betsy Montgomery, Biology I & II, Chemistry & Advanced Chemistry taught by Brenda Fuller, Latin I, II, III, IV, Russian, Algebra I & II, Statistics & Probability taught by Jim Fuller, and Sign Language I & II taught by REACH member Sharon Czeresko.

Museum and Zoo Classes

Columbia Museum of Art
Parents and home-schooled children can choose to book a K-12 tour program or they can attend One Room Schoolhouse. One Room Schoolhouse is designed especially for home-schooled children ages 4 and up and their parents. This program combines an exploration of the galleries with a creative activity in the studio. Programs take place in the mornings and afternoons on the second Friday of each month, September through May. Parents are responsible for the care and supervision of children. ​Join us the third Friday of the month for lessons designed specifically for Homeschool students. All programs are free to South Carolina Homeschools unless otherwise noted. Riverbanks Zoo Homeschool Programs
Each month the zoo offers a new set of classes that will focus on a particular topic, include hands-on activities and feature live animal encounters or guided Zoo tours. Don't forget about the many nature centers and parks around the area that offer science classes, guided hikes, and special programs for small groups. Take your family on a visit and do a self guided hike or you can contact a park ranger and plan a field trip. The Midlands Home School Resource Center
The Midlands Home School Resource Center (MHSRC) has been established to aid parents who need assistance in teaching their child the upper level mathematics, science, foreign language, and/or English courses required to graduate from high school and to prepare their child for college. The key elements of Christianity will be unapologetically taught through the science and literature courses offered. Each class meets on Monday and Thursday in Lexington.

Excelsior! Academy
Excelsior! teaches the arts through the context of history. This historical framework heightens the students' understanding and appreciation for the art, music, and drama of that period. Excelsior! Academy teaches students ages 4 years old through High School.

The Principia Center 
A Christian classical homeschool center located in downtown Columbia at Columbia Evangelical Church. We serve the rhetoric and dialectic levels of the trivium (7-12 grades) in a challenging and encouraging environment. Classes meet on Thursdays and are staffed by instructors who are experts in their fields.

Mathematics Tutorial Assistance and Classes  
Rick Bailey, Mathematics Department Chair at Midlands Tech, is utilizing State-of-the-art Web-based Assessment and Learning Tools (ALEKS) to provide assistance to homeschooling families. USC offerings 

Young Artist Workshop
These classes are not specifically for homeschoolers. Classes offered in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and more. They are held on Fridays from 4-5:30 in the McMaster building on the USC campus. For more information call (803)777-3841, visit website or contact  yaw.usc@gmail.com.

Strings Project
The String Project offers large group beginning classes, small group second year classes, 3 orchestras and private lessons. All private lessons are taught by undergraduate string education majors. An important aspect of the program is that students are charged affordable fees in order to make the program available to children who might not otherwise have access. Ages of Arts Academy
A fine arts academy in West Columbia that holds hold various classes throughout the week: Beginner violin, Homeschool String Orchestra, Arts Through the Ages, Arts Around the World, Drama for Kids, Mission Minded Drama. All classes are taught under the umbrella Soli Deo Gloria (To God Be the Glory). Nature Classes

REACH hosts nature programs at Carolina Children's Garden once a month.  These fabulous programs are for ages 4-11 and cover everything from ecology, weather, geology, nature identifications, and much more. Go to the yahoo calendar for more info.
Greater Columbia Children's Choir
GCCC, celebrating 25 years of offering quality music and vocal instruction has openings for children and youth from grades 1-12. The Midlands Home School Band

For anyone 4th grade and above with a desire to play a wind, brass or percussion instrument. There will be a three day Band Camp Aug 22 - 24! The cost is only $25 for 9 hours of instruction! Please consider this for your child/children who have a desire to play. You do not need to buy an instrument for this camp as the children will be playing on recorders. While this camp is required for those desiring to join the band as a beginner this fall, it is open to anyone interested in music. Providence Athletic Club 2011-2012. PAC would like to get the word out about all the sports teams that will be offered this year to home school kids, kids who attend a private schools that do not have teams, and virtual school students who have no place to play JV and Varsity athletics.
